Obituary of Wilmer Franklin Jacoby

STOW - Wilmer Franklin Jacoby (Bill), 94, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 25, 2022. Born in Copley, OH, he was a resident of Stow since 1962. Wilmer was a faithful member of the Chapel for over 50 years, where he served as a deacon. He was a lineman for Ohio Edison and Power Superintendent for the Village of Hudson. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a plank owner aboard the USS Philippine Sea (CV-47) that transported Admiral Richard Byrd to the South Pole in January of 1947. Preceded in death by parents, Guy and Floy (Lanterman) Jacoby, wife, Mary Jacoby, and first wife, Patricia Frazer Jacoby, he is survived by his loving companion, Elfrieda Lytle; daughter, Rebecca (Tom) Deyo; granddaughter, Rachel Deyo; children by marriage, Donald (Bobbie) Parham, Susan (Michael) Shaffer, and Sharen (Thomas) Santell; grandchildren, Crystal (Aaron) Uhl, Jackolyn (Aaron) Casanova, Daniel Shaffer, and five great-grandchildren. Pastor Steve Bucy will conduct service Thursday 3 PM at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow. Private burial will be held at Stow Cemetery.
