Obituary of Fred O. Wands

STOW - The family of Fred O. Wands is saddened to announce the passing of their loved one on Friday, March 4, 2022. Fred was born October 31, 1946, and grew up in Kent. He graduated from Kent Roosevelt High School in 1964 and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Navy for the next four years. Fred went on to work as a long-distance truck driver, a job he truly loved. He was also a member of the Rockton Lodge 316. Fred had a great love for vintage cars and over the years, he skillfully built, rebuilt and saved many cars and trucks. Preceded in death by parents, Herb and Neva Wands; brother, Ted; sisters, Peg and Bette. Fred is survived by his wife, Vicki (Nichols) Wands; daughters, Heather and Jannay; stepson, Brian Nichols; stepdaughter, Jen (Robb) Berkowitz; grandchildren, Abby, Greg, Mitch, Kyle, Kodey, Kory, Kareena, Kaylee, Annika, Ava, Alia, Brynn, and Brooke; brother-in-law, Phil Ridgley; sister-in-law, Anne Kittle; as well as several nieces and nephews. He will be truly missed by his many friends. Chaplain Terry Arnold will conduct service 1 PM Tuesday at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, OH 44224. Friends may call 11 AM to 1 PM at the funeral home. The family requests that all attendees dress casually, as Fred was a casual man.
