Obituary of William Badgley

STOW - William “Bill” Badgley, age 96, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2022, and went home to the Lord and to be with his wife, Madeline. Born in Akron on October 29, 1925, he graduated from Central High School in 1943, and retired from Goodyear in 1991, after 48 years of service. Also in 1943, Bill met Madeline at Goodyear. Bill was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II. He served as an airplane armorer, receiving an American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, Victory Medal, and Good Conduct Status from February 11, 1944, to April 23, 1946. He married his sweetheart on his birthday in 1951, and they moved to Stow in 1959. Bill was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and great-grandfather. Everywhere he went, he made friends with his caring nature and helping hand. He loved telling his stories about his days in the Army and growing up in Akron. He will be greatly missed. Preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Madeline, and brother, Ralph. He is survived by his children, Bill (Debby) Badgley, Debbie Kinney (Michael) Dugan, sister, June White, nephew, Rodney, grandchildren, Lisa Blazer, Michelle (Heather) Badgley, Amanda (Jon) Jensik, Billy, and three great-grandchildren, Adelyn, Nolyn, and Declan, as well as Debbie and Michael’s four cats, with whom he has resided the past 18 years. Joy Vallen will conduct service Friday 10:30 AM at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, where friends may call from 9:00 AM until service time. Interment Northlawn Memorial Gardens, Peninsula.
