Obituary of Mary Tomasic

Mary “Baba” Tomasic (Staresina), 94, died August 20, 2014 at Bath Manor Skilled Nursing Center with family by her side. Mary was born in Croatia on August 3, 1920 and moved to the United States in 1960 with her daughter Carol. She enjoyed spending time with family, working in the family business, gardening, and tending to the plants in the greenhouse. A devout Catholic, she was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Cuyahoga Falls. She was deeply loved by her family and will be missed but never forgotten. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Michael in 1945, infant daughters Ana and Mary, parents Slavko and Ana (Kramaric) Staresina, and brothers Joseph, Nicholas, Charles, and Pete. She is survived by her daughter Carol Baumann (Jack), grandchildren Joseph Pavicic (Billie), Paul, Andrew, and Jack Baumann (Renee), great-grandson Sebastian Pavicic, sister Barbara Klemencic, many nieces and nephews, and “new-found” grandson and loving caretaker Larry Culver of Cuyahoga Falls. The family would like to thank the staff of Bath Manor for their loving and dedicated care over the past 15 months.  Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Sunday 3 to 6 PM.  Mass of the Christian Burial Monday 10 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 1905 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, 44223, Fr. Tom McCann celebrant.  Burial at Silver Springs Cemetery.
