Obituary of William Thomas Scafidi
MUNROE FALLS – William Thomas Scafidi, 62, died January 5, 2010. He was born in Akron to parents Anthony and Mary Scafidi. Well known for his good humor and quick wit, Bill served his country in the Navy and retired as a meat cutter from the United Food and Commercial Workers Union. He was a proud member of the Greater Akron Motorcycle Club and the Italian American Club. Above all else, he was an amazing father and a remarkable brother and friend.
He is survived by his daughter Erin (Adam) Kilgore, sons Antonio Francis Scafidi, Michael Thomas Scafidi, sisters Patricia (Charles) Perrin, Mary Ann (Jack) Haag, Barbara Malita and Cheryl Colianni, brothers Anthony (Suzanne) Scafidi and James Scafidi.
A memorial mass will be conducted on Friday, January 8, at 11:00 am at St. Eugene’s Catholic Church, 1821 Munroe Falls Ave., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221, Father Neil Crosby celebrant. There will be a reception immediately following at the church. Family and friends will also be gathering at the Greater Akron Motorcycle Club, 1540 Smith Rd., Akron, OH 44313 on Saturday, January 9, at 2:00 pm. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 6155 Rockside Rd., Suite 202, Independence, OH 44131-2217.
