Obituary of Jeffrey D. Gleghorn

Jeffrey Daniel Gleghorn, born August 8, 1958, passed away unexpectedly on December 29, 2009.  Born in Cuyahoga Falls, Jeffrey was the oldest child of Daniel E. and Mary E. (Smith) Gleghorn.    Preceded in death by grandparents Warren and Edna Gleghorn and Wilbur and Mary Smith, Jeffrey is survived by his parents; sisters Pamela (Dirk) Cook of Dubai, UAE; Janice (David) Brown of Stow; and Linda (Norris) Bailey of Highlands Ranch, Colorado.  He was a proud uncle to six nieces and nephews: Rachelle Dunneback, Nicholas & Kristofer Leech, Sarah & Andrew Brown, and Kayla Bailey.  He will be missed by his many aunts, uncles and cousins.    He was a 1977 graduate of Lansing Eastern High School, Lansing, Michigan and of business college.  He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Cleveland Indians, Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Penguins.  He had an encyclopedic knowledge of sports statistics and trivia of all kinds, and delighted in sharing information with his family and friends.  He was a member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Stow, where he was active in the Bridge ministry to the homeless.  He enjoyed attending worship services at a number of area churches and studying many versions of the Bible.   Memorial service Wednesday, January 6 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Rev. Arthur Cubbon officiating.  Friends may call Tuesday, January 5, 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the church, and for one hour prior to the service.   In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in memory of Jeffrey be made to St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 3725 Kent Road, Stow OH 44224.
