I'll be visiting you in "Heaven" every time we return and throw a Red Eye spoon in your honor. (Now, if you could arrange to have a hungry fish nearby, that would be nice, too!)

I met Doug in 1972 at the bottle club meeting, went digging with him many times back in the 70's, one time we went to Denison and met his mom and some of siblings. His mom insisted we the (bottle gang) stay for supper, we were all dirty from digging , she did not care. Doug was a very special person, so much fun to be around but also so kind and caring. I'm saying this because he showed this by his actions. When I was very ill with cancer, in the hospital he came to see me, look in my room, but could not go in because he so emotional about how sick I was .For the next several months Doug would many times stop by when I was in the hospital and my wife was working and he would leave food on our kitchen table and give my kids money, and Salem is not anywhere near Stow. This happen many times not just once or twice. It hard for me to realize he gone. I'm sure I'm not the only one he touch with his kindness. I will miss him dearly, I know he is with God.
