Heart felt sympathy from me to Dr. Solan's family.
He is fondly remembered as a kind man.
I remember the fun times we had going to the Romney Land Fill (the dump) and shoot rats.
Your friend from long ago,
Chuck

Dr. George Solan, M.D., "Boots" to his friends and that was everyone he met.
It was a delight to know and be next door neighbors to the Solons-"Boots", Marge,
Stuart, George, for what seams like a brief time when we both lived in Romney, West
Virginia. Time does go by so quickly. In the blink of an eye we are here and gone.
But, all you have to do is close your eyes, whisper the Solan name and all of your great, personal memories come flooding back like it was yesterday. There goes "Boots" in his Corvair with Harold in the passenger seat and Flo standing in the yard screaming.
Where are they going, only Heaven knows.

I remember when I lived in Ohio many years ago and "Boots" was always delightfully social with me --. ( I am a friend of Deb and and Boots' son George.) What a beautiful family man and grandfather. It was my pleasure to be in his and Marge's company on more than a few family get-togethers. This man was a little larger than life, and again, always interested in those around him. I have to add that I am bowled over by Boots' list of accomplishments.... I just read them. This was a man who lived life to the fullest.
My sincere condolences and prayers go out to my dear friends: Deb, George and Samantha.

Dr. Solan is now -- as submariners would say -- sailing on THE Admiral's boat. I have posted his death notice link on several Facebook pages for U.S. Navy Submariners, including WWII and diesel boats. My late brother was a submarine commanding officer. Nancy Yockey Bonar, Medina, OH

Dear George and Family,
You have my deepest condolences. Although I did not have the privilege of meeting your Dad, he certainly changed the world with his giftings and touched so many lives. He will always live on in your hearts. My friend, Mark thinks the world of your whole family. His face lights up at the mention of your families name and the special relationships that were formed from youth to the present. I pray for Gods peace to you all and many joyous moments of dear memories to ease the loss.

Hi Deb and George, so sorry to hear about your dad and dad-in-law. What a great part of his story! He lived a full life and did and enjoyed many things. Interesting that he enjoyed writing and Deb that was your major. I used to work in Boone Country as a coal miner. Praying for you both and Samantha and the family during this difficult time. Love to you all, Steve and Claudette

Dear Marge and Family
I am sad to hear that Boots has passed away. He was always such a dear, kind person. I was privileged to work with him at the VA and to know him in the years after he retired. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. May God our Comforter be with you as you walk through this valley.

George was one of my favorite people - and a wonderful supporter of Stow Players for many years. He and Marge came to see me in shows at other area theatres as well. I will always remember his kindness, his way with a joke, and his friendship. Rest in peace, "Boots," rest in peace.
