Jeff Staker was a great friend. He is the only person outside of my family who attended an Indians and a browns game with me. I attended his church several times, attended his wedding and probably saw almost every Super Bowl at each other's home the last 30 years. My wife was in his wedding. A classy guy, wonderful wife, and a wonderful family. He was a terrific friend. I always enjoyed visiting in his home. I even brought my dog Sampson the last time. I enjoyed worshiping at his church with him and his wife. I look forward to seeing him on the shores of heaven one day soon. From me and my family our greatest condolences.

My condolences to the Staker family. While I only got to know Jeff over the last couple of years through the Emerald Necklace Golf League (which he founded), I always looked forward to playing with him. The first time we played together was as teammates at the league’s version of the Ryder Cup in 2018. The 36 holes over two days allowed me to appreciate and admire him as a golfer and gentleman and to thoroughly enjoy his humor and warm personality. In retrospect, I feel honored to have been immediately bestowed my nickname of “What about Bob”.
I always looked forward to chatting with him and whenever we had the opportunity to play, it was always fun, it revived my competitive juices and made me a better player.
I’m sure I speak for the entire league in saying how much we will miss him.

My sincere condolences to Linda, Peter, Andrew and family, from an old friend going back to Ohio State days. When I would think of Jeff, his attributes that would flash into my mind were his steadfast adherence to the two greatest commandments, golf, family, fun, and his infectious laugh. I can hear it now, and will never forget that sound byte.

Jeff was a good friend of mine and Linda and he were the witnesses to my wedding. He was a kind and gentle man, a good father and husband, and most of all a man that pointed others to Christ

I was shocked and saddened at the death of a good Christian friend I have known much of my life. I got to meet him in my teens through Bill Fletcher, and then kept in touch with him as a secondary golf writer for the Cleveland Plain Dealer. He was always there for the Greater Cleveland Open Men's and Women's Championships when I covered it for the paper, and many other events. Jeff is one of the finest human beings I've ever met, and the world is a poorer place without him.

Oh Jeff, we didn't know you half as long as we wanted. You brought light and laughter into any room you visited, and you often kept us all sane in long planning meetings at Cleveland Metroparks. You were God's gift to thousands, but especially to us, your friends. We'll miss you terribly, kind and gentle Sir..... "Dr Bob"

So sorry to see this in the paper today. We were blessed to know Jeff from the various Cleveland Metropark youth & family golf tournaments he organized and ran while my daughters were growing up. Jeff was always so friendly and a joy to be around. His laugh was infectious, and he always had a smile on his face. Our deepest condolences to his family.

I worked with Jeff many years at Cleveland Metroparks. At our regular meetings he always brought a smile, a joke of two which made him laugh, which in turn made us laugh. He will be greatly missed.
