Obituary of Joanne Mae Gentile

STOW - Joanne M. Gentile went home to be with her Lord and Savior that she loved and faithfully served, on Monday, December 28th, 2020, at the age of 86, surrounded by her husband and children. Joanne Mae (Hedrick) Gentile was born in Paris, Ohio on September 10, 1934 to Olin and AirrieDell Hedrick. She married Raymond (Sam) Gentile on April 16, 1955. They shared 65 years together as residents of Stow, Ohio. She is survived by her children: Linda (Mark) Harouff, Cindy (David) Kraft, Lori (Greg) Rogers, and David (Denise) Gentile. She has 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Jim (Faye) Hedrick, and three sisters, Bonnie (Tom) Himler, Betty (Lenny) Cummins, and Dorie (Bill) Hess. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Gene Hedrick. Joanne was a lifelong member of Graham Road Baptist Church and served as head of the Mission Committee for many, many years. She was first and foremost a loving wife, mother, homemaker, grandmother, sister, friend, Jr. Church teacher, VBS worker, 4-H Leader, and so much more. She worked at Goodrich, Ben Franklin Corporate Office, Side Door, The Herb Barn (with her sisters), and volunteered her time and talent in so many ways. She loved her family and instilled in her children a strong Christian faith and values that will be passed down through many generations. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. “May all who go behind her find her faithful; May the fire of her devotion light their way.” Joanne’s son-in-law, Pastor David Kraft, will conduct service Thursday 1 PM at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, where friends may call from 12 noon until service time. Interment Rose Hill Burial Park. Funeral services will be livestreamed and available to watch via Facebook at samandjogentile. In lieu of flowers and in honor of her heart for missions, donations may be made to Victory 1:27.
