Obituary of James Allen Yoxthimer

James Allen "Jim" Yoxthimer, 57, passed away surrounded by his wife and three kids on April 20th, 2021 at their home in Marshall, Virginia after a courageous battle with cancer. Jim was born on March 2, 1964 in Akron, Ohio to Virgil Eugene Yoxthimer (deceased) and Alma Rose Yoxthimer. He grew up with his two siblings Ginger and Bill in Stow, OH. He moved to Virginia to begin his 33 years of service for the CIA. Jim was a dedicated and enthusiastic employee. Jim was happily married to his wife, Deanna, for 29 years and loved watching his three kids grow up. Jim was an avid Cleveland Browns fan, and enjoyed listening and attending Oak Ridge Boys concerts. His personality was infectious with smiles and laughter. He had a positive impact on many lives with his genuine character. Jim is survived by his wife, Deanna Hoy Yoxthimer; his three children, John Virgil Yoxthimer (Lauren), Danielle Nicole Yoxthimer, and Jason Thomas Yoxthimer; his mother, Alma Rose Yoxthimer; his sister, Ginger Schaber (Ken), and brother, Bill Yoxthimer (Jody). Calling hours will be Sunday, April 25th from 2 to 5 PM at Redmon Funeral Home, where service will be held Monday, April 26th at 1 PM. Burial Silver Springs Cemetery. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held in Marshall, VA on May 1st. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to “Memorial Services for Jim Yoxthimer” at https://gofund.me/dd7e8524.
