Marty,
My deepest condolences to you and family.
Do know that you are and have been in my thoughts. A wife, mother, teacher and friend, Debbie’s legacy and spirit will live on through you, Lauren, family, friends and all the lives she has touched over the years (including mine).
I learned a lot from Debbie, not only in the dojo, but outside it as well. I am a believer that we all have the power to touch others and I know a part of who I am today is because of her. And although I had not been in much communication since leaving Ohio, the friendship, time & gifts Debbie shared with me was never forgotten.
My heart and strength go out to you.
With sympathy,
Damon

For several years I studied karate in Boston and got to know Debbie as our instructor's teacher, Pittak-sensei, when she visited from time to time. Our class visited her dojo in Ohio for a tournament one year, and I will never forget her warm welcome and hospitality, or the invaluable instruction she gave. She was such an incredible mentor and friend, and I am so deeply sorry for the loss.

I met Debbie during an orientation in August of 2006. She has been a dear coworker and friend since then. We shared a lot of laughs and she has been a support for me since then. I love and admire her strength and she will always hold a place in my heart ❤️. Carrie Singer

So very sorry for your loss.
We were friends with your mom from the days when she had a karate club at KSU. That's over 30 years ago. She was a great teacher and amazing friend. Praying that you will have peace during this difficult time.

I have so many amazing memories of Debbie. Many needed to be shared with Lauren with a glass of wine and Debbie's counselor friends. My favorites are the dragon boat escapade, trips to Cleveland, the 50/50 raffle and so many laughs over a bottle of red wine. Debbie had a remarkable purpose driven life. She touched so many people including those lucky to call her a friend!
