God sent this woman to us in our greatest time of need. She saved me and my special needs son Lincoln - and took us under her wing. She taught me how to fight for my child and become a better mother! I’m beyond devastated to learn of her passing. God definitely gained an Angel and I know she is looking down on us continuing to give us the strength to fight for our children. I’m beyond grateful to have known her and called her my friend, she made everyone she touched a better person. The best quote that she told me (and I 10000% agree with) is when she said her husband said “Brenda, you could tell someone to go to hell AND they would actually look forward to the trip!!” She was an amazing advocate and was the best at her job! May her husband and kids know how awesome their mom/wife is and she made a difference in so many lives!! Prayers to all!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️

'B' was a life-saver! Her compassion, knowledge, and steadfastness, among other wonderful traits, helped her families gain the hope of life after the trauma of educational malpractice. She cared so deeply for each of us that we didn't feel like clients. Tragically, sometimes she entered our lives too late to make the most impact for a student, but her strategic wisdom and counsel were fundamental in the attempt.
Part of the universe's energy has escaped with Brenda's passing. I'm crushed with this news as I'm sure everyone else who worked with or knew her is too. She was the crucial element in our parent advocacy group's ultimate success (Upper Arlington Kids Identified with Dyslexia, UA-KID).
I'm so glad she was able to witness the positive results of her hard work with Upper Arlington families and staff members. She always saw the big picture so I hope you, her family, can be comforted by knowing that she created the ripples and waves in others' lives that will perpetuate her passion, intelligence, and devotion.

I am just heart broken. Brenda was such an amazing gift to so many families, including mine. A true champion for children with special needs. God had a very special place for her in heaven. Prayers for all her family and friends. Our world lost someone very special the day she passed to our Lords arms.

I am heartbroken over the loss of Brenda. I first met Brenda in an IEP meeting. I was a teacher in the district and she was a student advocate. We worked through many IEPs since then and I had the privilege of becoming her friend. She was loving and honest. She helped countless children and families and was clearly respected in the field.
A few months ago, I asked Brenda if there was anything I could do to help her fulfill any wishes she had. My thoughts were along the lines of a special place she wanted to visit. She immediately said yes and explained how she had completed plans for all of her students except one. She was very worried about not having this student connected with services yet. That was Brenda. She was always thinking about others.
Her family was her priority and I loved hearing her stories. I think my favorite was the story about her van in the hospital parking lot. One of her daughters was taken to the hospital and she rushed to meet her there. Upon arriving, she was frantic to get to her daughter so didn’t take time to park her van. Instead, she handed her keys to a complete stranger and told him he had to park the van because she had to get to her daughter. More than a day later, after the emergency was under control, her husband asked where the van was and that was the first time she thought about the fact that she had no idea where her van was. That sums up Brenda. She was intentional, organized, and cerebral, but if her family needed her, all of that went out of the window so she could be there. Things didn’t matter to her, people did.
Brenda would want us to be a light in the world and help those we can. I will do my best to honor her in this way. I am praying for her family and I’m here if you need anything. My number is in her book. ❤️
