Obituary of Brenda Elisa Louisin
HUDSON - Brenda Elisa Louisin, 51, died July 3, 2021.
She was born on July 24, 1969, in Agaña Heights, Guam, Mariana Islands to William Roy Dengate (retired Air Force) and Cecilia Beatriz Samanez. As the child of an Air Force officer, she grew up, along with her two brothers, in various locations including Lima, Peru; Papillion, Nebraska; and Montgomery, Alabama. In 1997, she married her husband, Michael Louisin.
She is survived by her husband, Michael; their four children, Abigail, Simon, Juliana, and David; father William Dengate; mother Cecilia Samanez; older brother Eugene Dengate, his wife Kelli, and their two children, Gavin and Jillian; younger brother Mark Dengate, his wife Amy, and their three children, Faith, Ashley, and Emily; uncle Wayne Dengate; uncle “Butch” Dengate and his wife Jeanne; aunt Lissy De Lambarri; Aunt Gabriela Reed and her husband James; cousin Veronica De Lambarri and her husband Franklin Perez and their sons Lorenzo and Emilio; cousin Cheryl Nadell and her husband Andrew; father and mother-in-law Victor and Marlette Louisin; brother and sister-in-law Sean and Cindy Louisin; cousin-in-law Tom Ewing and his children, Christopher and Samantha; and aunt-in-law Carole Signer.
Brenda graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in Montgomery, Alabama in 1987. She earned bachelor and master’s degrees in special education from The Ohio State University in 1998 and 2009, respectively. While completing her master’s degree Brenda saw an opportunity to help children with special needs. She founded Louisin Child Advocacy in 2009 and became a fierce advocate for children, helping them and their families to identify and support their special education needs. Her work was instrumental in creating change in the special education community in Central Ohio and beyond.
A celebration of life service will be held at the SHERATON SUITES, 1989 Front Street, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221, on SUNDAY, JULY 18TH AT 2:30 PM. (PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A NEW LOCATION AND TIME FOR THE CELEBRATION.) Friends may call at Redmon Funeral Home on SATURDAY, July 17th from 2 to 4 PM.
